1. Who We Are

LJC Counselling & Psychotherapy is owned and operated by Lou Crosby, a qualified BSc (Hons) Counsellor and Psychotherapist providing counselling and psychotherapy services to adults in-person and online across the UK.
2. Scope of Service
Therapy sessions are provided to adults aged 18 and over, either in-person or via secure online video sessions.
The purpose of counselling is to provide a safe, confidential space to explore emotional, psychological, and relational challenges.
Therapy is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in immediate distress, please contact your GP, Samaritans (116 123), or emergency services.
3. Session Bookings & Fees

Initial assessment (90 minutes): £95

Ongoing sessions (60 minutes): £75
Fees are reviewed periodically and any changes will be communicated in advance.
Payment is due before or at the time of each session by bank transfer (details provided upon booking).
4. Cancellations & Refunds
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged in full, except in exceptional circumstances.
If the counsellor needs to cancel a session, as much notice as possible will be given and no charge will apply.
Prepaid sessions are non-refundable after the 48-hour cancellation window.
5. Confidentiality
All sessions are confidential.
However, confidentiality may be broken if there is a legal obligation or a serious risk of harm to yourself or others.

6. Online Therapy
When sessions are held online, clients are responsible for ensuring a private, distraction-free environment and a stable internet connection.
Online therapy may not be suitable for all circumstances. The counsellor reserves the right to suggest alternative support if deemed necessary.
7. Emergencies & Crisis Support
Therapy sessions are scheduled and planned; they are not a replacement for crisis services.

8. Professional Standards
Lou Crosby is a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist working in accordance with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework.
She receives regular clinical supervision and maintains professional insurance.
9. Complaints
If you have concerns about any aspect of your therapy, please raise them directly with Lou Crosby in the first instance.
If the issue cannot be resolved, you may contact the BACP for further guidance at www.bacp.co.uk.
10. Intellectual Property
All written materials, content, and resources on this website are owned by LJC Counselling & Psychotherapy and may not be copied, distributed, or reproduced without prior written consent.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
By booking or attending therapy sessions, you agree to these terms.
